MCP server for Australian addresses

yepthere runs a hosted MCP server at https://yepthere.au/mcp with 10 tools for Australian address lookups, using a normal API key. Connect Claude Desktop through the mcp-remote bridge, or connect Claude Code, Cursor and other MCP clients over Streamable HTTP.

The free plan includes up to 500 MCP lookups a month. Paid plans use their full allowance. Upgrade your plan.

Send your API key in the Authorization header. Replace YOUR_KEY with your key and keep it in personal configuration.

Three steps

  1. Create an account

    Sign up and verify your email. The free plan includes up to 500 MCP lookups a month; paid plans use MCP within their full allowance.

  2. Connect from Claude or ChatGPT

    Add a custom connector with the URL https://yepthere.au/mcp, sign in with your yepthere account and approve.

  3. Or add the Desktop configuration

    With Node.js installed, copy the Claude Desktop configuration into claude_desktop_config.json, replace YOUR_KEY with your key and restart Desktop. The configuration downloads the mcp-remote bridge on first use.

  4. Ask for an address

    Ask Claude to find an Australian address and confirm the full candidate before resolving its G-NAF identifier.

Claude Desktop

Add this to claude_desktop_config.json and restart Desktop. This uses Node.js and downloads the mcp-remote bridge on first use.

Cursor

Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "yepthere": {
      "url": "https://yepthere.au/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_KEY"
      }
    }
  }
}

Claude Code

Run this command, then use /mcp to check the connection:

claude mcp add --transport http yepthere 'https://yepthere.au/mcp' --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY"
ToolUse
search_addressesFind Australian G-NAF street addresses by words. Returns address lines, suburb, state, postcode, coordinates and available boundaries. Ask the user to confirm a candidate before using its uprn.
resolve_addressRetrieve an address by its G-NAF identifier, returned as uprn by search. An empty results array means no matching address; do not invent a replacement.
nearest_addressesFind the nearest Australian address points to coordinates. Results include distanceMetres. Proximity alone does not confirm a customer address.
postcode_summaryGet the suburbs, state, address count and centroid for a four-digit Australian postcode. A postcode can have an aggregate for more than one state.
search_postcodesAutocomplete Australian postcodes using a one-to-four-digit prefix or a suburb name. Returns postcode aggregates, not individual street addresses.
parse_addressParse an unstructured Australian address and rank G-NAF candidates with confidence and matched components. Send only the address text. PO boxes do not match street addresses. Requires the parse scope.
bulk_searchSearch 1 to 100 Australian addresses in one request, preserving input order. Each query costs one lookup and returns up to five candidates. Confirm ambiguous matches with the user.
validate_addressCheck whether an Australian address exists in G-NAF. A match does not prove deliverability or that a person lives there. Ask the user to confirm ambiguous results; never invent an address. Send only address text, without names or other personal details.
address_boundariesFind which council, electorates and statistical areas an address falls in, with names, codes and boundary edition. Get the uprn from search_addresses or validate_address first.
postcode_suburbsList suburbs in an Australian postcode, most addresses first, with address counts. Useful to pick the main suburb for a postcode.

Your usual quotas and rate limits apply. Bulk searches count once per query. The service keeps the last 100 lookup texts sent with each key for 7 days, visible only to the operator for abuse investigation and support, and nothing else from a conversation. Read the privacy policy for parse processing details, or read about limits.

The openapi resource describes the HTTP API. The validate-customer-address prompt helps an assistant ask you to confirm a candidate before resolving its identifier.
